Decision Making

Using Symbols to Help You Make Decisions
Imagery is instantaneous. You can get feedback from your symbolic unconscious
mind in seconds.Imagery isn't relegated to the use of doctors, nurses, business
executives and Olympic athletes. Anybody can tap into imagery on a moment's
notice to help solve any dilemma or make any decision more easily. Imagery does
not have to be a process that requires thirty to sixty minutes of deep work.
If you're stuck, and don't know whether to turn right or left, so to speak . . .
and you need more clarification after practicing the "scales imagery,"
just close your eyes for a minute and:
"Ask your unconscious mind to provide an image that clarifies the situation
and shows what is best for the highest good of all concerned."
Here's an example. A friend of mine and his 12 year old son were asked to be part
of a family gathering, a gathering that the son had mixed feelings about. They
both did this exercise and here's what they saw. The son saw himself
comfortably being part of the gathering. The father told his son, "I saw
a five-pointed star and it means I'm supposed to be the sheriff. I'm the
protector. I'll make sure it's safe for you. The decision was easy and a good
time was had by all at the gathering.
